Bimala Devi Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Bimala, located within the Jagannath Temple complex in Puri in the Indian state of Orissa. It is generally regarded as a Shakti Pitha, among the holiest temples dedicated to the Hindu Goddess.<br /><br />1 Bimala also spelt Vimala Shakti Peeth Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Bimala.<br /> <br />2 The shrine is located next to the sacred pond called Rohini Kunda within the complex of Jagannath Temple at Puri, Odhisa.<br /><br />3 It is popularly called Bimala Khanda Shakthi Peeth and is also referred to as Oddiyana or Uddiyana in the Kalika Purana and Hevajara Tantra.<br /> <br />4 According to the Devi Purana, the navel of Goddess Sati fell in this area which makes this shrine one of the four important Adi Shakti Peetha.<br /> <br />5 The construction of this ancient temple was done in the Kalinga Architectural style which dates back to the 9th century.
